HOMEWORK INFORMATION

Kindergarten -  Find someone in your family, neighborhood, church or any person you know over fifty years of age and ask them to teach you a lullaby that they would sing to a baby held in their lap, or going to sleep.

First Grade  - Find someone in your family, neighborhood, church or any person you know over fifty years of age and ask them to teach you a lullaby that they would sing to a baby held in their lap, or going to sleep.

Second Grade - Find a tape or CD with a very steady beat (not too fast, not too slow) and play it.  March to the beat around the room, playing any type of instrument you can use (pots, spoons, boxes, blocks, etc.)

Third Grade - the music alphabet is made up of seven letters - the first seven letters of the regular alphabet - A, B, C, D, E, F, G.   Practice the songs on the sheet I gave you about the seven letters of the music alphabet.

Fourth Grade - Practice all of the songs we have covered in the book.  You should be able to play the notes G, A, and B, and recognize them on the music staff.  Study hard. There's a test in two weeks.

Fifth Grade - Using the techniques we practiced in class, write one verse for a song about George Washington.  This verse must have four lines, 8 beats to a line.  Use the graphic organizer I handed our in class.   This will explain the directions to you and your parents.  Get any help you need from anyone you know who is willing to help you.  Try to make it rhyme in one of the patterns we discussed.  See your sheet for details and patterns. wavycolorlines.gif (4587 bytes)
